1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using BriefPad ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

BriefPad is an AI-powered meeting intelligence platform for freelancers. It provides:

• Client interaction logging and management
• AI-generated meeting briefings and talking points
• Voice-to-text transcription for meeting notes
• Commitment and task tracking
• Client health scoring and recommendations

3. Account Registration

• You must provide accurate and complete registration information.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must be at least 18 years old to use BriefPad.
• One person or entity may not maintain more than one free account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use BriefPad for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems.
• Upload malicious content or malware.
• Use the Service to spam, harass, or harm others.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
• Resell or redistribute BriefPad's AI-generated content as a standalone product.

5. Your Data

• You retain full ownership of all data you input into BriefPad.
• BriefPad does not claim any ownership over your client data, meeting notes, or AI-generated content.
• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to process data about your clients.
• You must comply with applicable data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) regarding your clients' information.

6. AI-Generated Content

• AI briefings, summaries, and recommendations are generated by language models and may contain inaccuracies.
• You should review AI-generated content before relying on it for business decisions.
• BriefPad does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated content.
• You are responsible for how you use AI-generated briefings and recommendations.

7. Billing & Subscriptions

• Free accounts are subject to usage limits (clients, briefings per week).
• Pro subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time from Settings.
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase.
• Price changes will be communicated 30 days in advance.

8. Intellectual Property

BriefPad, its design, code, and AI models are owned by BriefPad. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service.

9. Limitation of Liability

BriefPad is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Termination

• You may terminate your account at any time from Settings.
• We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms.
• Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
